i know osu fans have insane stereotypes like being greasy and incelish men with gooner skins and always complaining that osu is the best rhythm game, but my love for the game is entirely different than what people would expect it to be, and i wanted to make a sort of commemorative shrine for it as someone who's liked the game for over 10 years!
for the people unaware, what exactly is osu?
osu is an open source rhythm game created in 2007 by "peppy", or dean herbert ! it was originally released as a form of freeware, but later became an open source project that formed the community that you see today! the objective of osu is pretty easy to understand, especially after doing the tutorial that comes with every download of osu. you just click the circles to whatever song you decide to play! there are also other hit objects that you'll have to click, like a slider, and a spinner! depending on the gamemode, which there are four, you may have different hit objects for each one.
what exactly do i find special about osu?
time played aside, i have plenty of reasons that i enjoy playing osu. i have a very intense passion for music and sound, which bleeds into my interest for other games at times. i believe that music is a vital part of any game, as it not only sets the mood, but can accompany how the environment around you feels, and can also provide some insight about the characters in the scene as well.
The corner where I gave up on staying dry.
I got home soaked and twenty minutes late. Next time I will remember an umbrella.
